pentium 4 2.2 ghz, celeron m 1.6 ghz, celeron d 3.2 ghz(never heard of that going over 2.93 ghz but could be wrong)

1. celeron D 3.2ghz

not 100% sure between celron D and celeron M

You are majorly over estimating the power of a pentium over celron.

noticed the celeron D 2.8ghz is better then the pentium 4 2.2ghz.
 
celeron M 1.6ghz is just for laptops
and i can't beleive that celeron M 1.6ghz is better than pentium 4 2.2 ghz

for me i think celeron D 3.2ghz, Pentium 4 2.2 ghz, celeron M 1.6ghz

There is no way that a Celeron D 3.2 is more powerful than a P4 2.2, not sure about a Celeron M, but im sure the P4 beats that also. So this is what i think:
Pentium 4 @ 2.2Ghz
Celeron D @ 3.2Ghz
Celeron M @ 1.6Ghz
 
Guys, its the CELORON M, not PENTIUM M. So Geoffs got it right. A pentium M would be a real match for the pentium 4 2.2 Ghz.
 
The old p4 w/o ht technology is basially a celron d...so to compare whichever one is clocked higher would be the winner...so it goes celly d, pentium 4, celly m
 
well wat will u be using ur computer for. cause then we could tell u wat would be the best for u and the worst for u

No way, run benchmarks, video editing, anything! the P4 will work much better at it then the celeron.

Where did you hear a Celeron D 3.2 is equal to a P4 2.8? If you tried to play games with a 3.2 celeron it will be extremely slow, especially at multi-tasking.
 
well if the 3.2 is slower than the 2.2, than i can't imagine just how slow that is. i'd have to think back... about 5 years.

Did you even look at the link I provided. It shows in EVERY benchmark just about the Celeron D 2.8ghz beating the pentium 2.2ghz. Now the celeron D 3.2ghz is faster then the 2.8ghz celeron D.

notice even in encoding a celeron 2.6ghz with ddr200 is beating a pentium 4 2.2ghz with ddr266

no no no no no
for example the PM at 1.6 will run faster than a celeron at 1.6 amds run at around two Ghz but they are still as good as the p4s running above 2.8ghz

i told u about the celeron, that benchmark does prove alot of things. do u say that 3d mark doesnt prove anything, it is just a benchmark
