ok so i want to build a new system, but i know that the entire system revolves around the CPU, i have a 5200 Ultra video card, so if i were to get a 64-bit CPU i dont think that i could utilze it in games and so on, and im not looking to upgrade my video card or anything, so what CPU would you base a system off thats gonna have 512 DDR PC 3200, a 5200 Ultra, 180 gigs of hard drive space, and used for mild gaming, like Grand Theft Auto, XIII, Counter Strike Source, and UT 2004....im open to try anything keeping in mind that in my past i have gone through a 1.8 Ghz duron, an athlon XP 2700+, a P4 1.6 Ghz, a Celeron 1.8 Ghz, so brand of CPU is not a factor, i just want to know what will give me the most bang for my buck in this mid range gaming machine

oh no, im not basing it off of my video card....just saying that i dont want to have some sweet ass like 3.4 ghz system with 2 gigs of ram and then a shity 5200 ultra....i just want the cpu to match the video cards potential....im thinking like a 3200+ athlon xp....yay or nay?

Nay. XP3200, if you can still find it, is overpriced. You're prolly best off hunting down a S754 setup whether it be Sempron or A64 :)

I wouldn't want an ECS board even if it was free. The processor is fine but try looking for an older MSI or Intel brand mobo to save money

I would say either a P4, Athlon 64, or athlon xp. The celeron's arnt good at all for gaming, i would go with a P4 for mild gaming. (Counter strike source actually is more than a mild-game).
