which cpu?

I found two cpu at the same price and one is amd 64 2800 and one is p4 2.66ghz. I'm almost positive that the amd one is better for gaming but I just wanted to know everyone elses opinion. Thanks.

Did you already purchase the motherboard? Do you know what kind you want? What are the ranges of mobo that support that cpu? I know the AMD is probably faster, but im an Intel man myself... I guess it is just like a windows/linux prefference....

thanks for replying. no I havn't bought anything yet, both motherboards are really cheap...the amd one seems more reliable and i'm not sure about the intel board. Both of them costs around 50 dollars.

yes the AMD one is better (also because P4-2.66 comes as both a Northwoodb and a Prescott). CPU 101.
