This Mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131595

Now to figure out processor. I am building a decent workhorse pretty much. I may eventually do some mid level gaming. But I am going to school for computer science so I just want it to be able to handle some complex coding. Nothing hardcore. I was reading that you don't need a triple or quadruple core processor unless you do some heavy gaming. Is that true?

Already have ram and a harddrive from my other computer. Looking to spend around 100 on the processor. Give or take some. And is going to need to be AMD since the Mobo is. Unless there is a better Intel for around 100 or 130.

That'll make it like

40(Case) + 80(Motherboard) +100(Processor) +50(Power Supply) = 270

I agree, the Phenom II 555 Dual-Core Processor is a good choice for a price range of about $100. It is faster than the Phenom II 550 Dual-Core because of a slightly higher clockspeed and AMD improved the architecture.
