Which cpu?

I think you are right, the second is better. I may be missing something, as the price is wierd. But I agree.

neither.

Rather than drop $330 on a dead socket, I would upgrade to a 1156 board with a quad i5. The CPU itself is cheaper than the C2Q you picked out:

If you don't have quite enough money for the motherboard and RAM too (assuming you are on a DDR2 board), you can sell your current board and memory and get a fair bit of the required money together

=EDIT=

If you go for a combo deal, you can get motherboard and CPU for $10 less than the C2Q after MIR:

true, but you also have to realize that he will have to buy new ram as well for that, and that will cost another 100 bucks

Umm....it's not quite a dead socket when it can still beast today's games and programs. I know that the higher end quad cores are, by today's standards, still considered very good. I'd love the i5, or even the i7 for that matter, but my computer and alot of it's parts mean something to me, so I'm making it last while still giving it some power.

anyway, I just rambled. I'd like to get the best processor I can that'll fit my 775 socket.
