Intel Celeron D 3.06Ghz VS Intel Pentium 4 2.2Ghz / Northwood

General computers and world of warcraft. Which is better and by how much?

The Celeron does really poorly at gaming.

Now I know you won't take my word for which is better, so i'll let other people say what they think.

Celerons have always really slacked in gaming, the 2.2ghz Northwood will be better, you'll really notice it at gaming, and it would be around equal with the Celeron in about everything else...

3D mark scores mean nothing to me on a single component The only game that will be played on the comptuer is World of Warcraft

I would get the Northwood and stay away from the Celeron.

I agree with others. Stay away from Celerons if you can.

I know from experience, that Celeron's arent good for gaming. I had a Celeron D 2.6Ghz and a 9600XT, and I couldnt play Halo at all, but with my other P4 I played it maxed out at a constent framerate.

If you guys couldn't tell, WoW isn't a very demanding game : / the older type of celeron D @ 2.8ghz can play it fine, thats what I had in this PC a long long time ago.

The cache in the Celeron D is enough to make me sick. Stay with the Northwood, much better a Northwood Pentium than a Prescott Celeron.
