http://www.pcbodega.com/prod_details.php?id=6886 or this onehttp://www.pcbodega.com/prod_details.php?id=6896

the E2140 should cost $80 while the X2 costs $83,...my budget is just $80:oIs the X2 worth the extra 3dollars? or will E2140 outperform it? my third option is to go for this onehttp://www.pcbodega.com/prod_details.php?id=6897 for $91,

the X2 outperforms both in tom's hardware cpu charts, but X2's cache is only half of both its intel counterpart,...im planning to use it on multitasking like java programming and downloading huge files at the same time and average gaming...:D

i may have made a mistake, but when i looked at the benchmarks on toms hardware, the third option,e2160 outperforms the AMD.
so i would say go with that one. as long as you can afford that little bit more

oops sorry, my bad...i should be referring to E2140 vs X2 4000+ on the charts,....should i choose between these two, which would it be? bigger cache? or higher clock speed? im also considering heat issues as i will be running it 24/7...

i dont really know much about AMDs as im rather a fan of intel... but if it were me i would go for higher clockspeed. just cos i dont know what you really need but it would be better for most things.

hmmm....i heard that X2's run cooler than their intel counterparts...but AMD mobos are more expensive than intel based mobos, i think ill go for intel for a change,...thanks:D

go intel :D

and i dont reckon heat really matters that much.

like they arent gonna be any different runnning 24/7. they are designed to run at that heat

well no matter what, im pretty sure the e2160 will go way better. so i reckon you should just spend a bit more and get that

1. AMD Motherboard is usually cheaper than Intel
2. E2160 is the way to go.
3. Get MB with P31/ P35/ G31/ G33 chipset in case you want to upgrade later

well thanks,...speaking of mobo, can you recommend me one? Ive decided to go for the
E2160 so i need a good mobo that has an onboard video, preferably an nvidia IGP,...

well im not too good with motherboards but ill see what i can find.

i dont understand the nvidia IGP bit lol. did you mean AGP or something?

Integrated Graphics Processor..:) onboard video for short...ill be waitin for the 8800series to lower in price once the 9000series will come up next year:D so i need a good onboard video to buy time..

i would say get something like this Gigabyte GA-P31-S3G.

its a pretty good board that costs about $120
australian. no idea what it will cost you but that a low range mobo that has all the features in case you ever need to upgrade.

:(my mobo budget is $70,...

oh and every mobo that i know of has on board graphics. lol

:Dyup,...but most of the time they suck, except nvidia and ATI based chipset of course..:P
