Which games should I spend my money on?

I don't have that much money right now, but I want some good games to play. I was thinking Half-Life 2, Battlefield 2, COD 2, F.E.A.R., but I could probably only spend about 100 bucks, which limits me to about 2 games, i'm looking for a good single player shooter with lots of tense moments and a good online shooter. Any recommendations on games? Thanks!

I personally like battlefield 2 but im not much of a gamer(yet) cause i havent built my computer yet.

i tried the FEAR demo and did not like it. i would recommend HL2 and BF2 or COD2. since BF2 and CoD2 are almost the same (kinda), its tough to choose between the two!

ya kinda by the fact their both FPS's but they are really different. BF2 is ment for online play, set for modern combat, and you capture flags to win. while Cod2 is set in WW2, focus's on singplayer, has objectives you have to complete, and known for very very intense fire fights.
doesn't half-life2 come with some version of CS?
ya its CS:Source and it also comes with HL2: Deathmatch which is a really fun game. also you can get tons of mods from steam for free that are also very fun, like dystopia and natural selection.

i personally like the el-cheapo games from the $9.98 bin at wal-mart.:P

maybe that just because its about all my lappy will run.:(

BF2 is definately the best multiplayer shooter of them all.

and for single player, it depends on what you like.
if you like futuristic post apocalyptic stuff, i would go for HL2,
if you like WW2, i would go for CoD2,
and if you want something X-files like, i would go for FEAR.

those are all really great games ( i have them all here atm :D )
so, it mainly comes down on the storyline.

Does Battlefield 2 work on my computer?

Here are the system requirements:

Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater
512 MB of RAM or more
8x or faster CD/DVD drive
2.3 GB free hard drive space or more
DirectX 9.0c compatible (see video)
DirectX 9.0c compatible

VIDEO
Video card must have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets:
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater
ATI Radeon 8500 or greater

If you do not understand that then:
Your cpu is good enough.
Your ram is good enough, but it is recommended you get 1 gb of ram.
I am not sure if the x200 beats the 8500. But I strongly recommend you get a better graphics card, x600 or the 9800 of better!
Your hard drive is fine
