what pci x16 graphics card should i get? my power supply is 500w and has 28a on the 12v rail. my budget is around $90ish? maybe a little more?

e2180 stock 2ghz
2gb pc2-5300

i would like to play bf2 & 2142 on high
also these games at a decent graphics setting:
spiderman 3
assassins creed
call of duty 4
kane and lynch

I assumed you lived in the UK because of the uk on end of your name lol. That makes this alot harder. You may just want to save up another $60 or so.

well im kinda stuck between the 8600gt and the 3650.. both are gddr3 and 256mb. or maybe the 2600xt which is gddr4 and 512mb. which one do you suggest?

I'd still save. If someone can recommend some great budget cards, they'll do better than I would. The 9600GT is worth the extra time it'll take you to be able to buy one.

If you could also save up an extra $110, the 8800GT would be worth it as well...

Kidding, I'm not an idiot like the 9600GT guy. The 8600GT or 8600GTS would do fine for what you're looking for.

I have a evga 8600GT and its decent. You'll be able to play all those games with this card at acceptable to good frame rates. You get what you pay for.

$80 - $30(MIR) = $50.00

I would recommend that you save up a couple of more dollars and get a 9600gt. 9600gt will give almost 2x the fps then the 8600gt. You can still get the 8600gt if you want though. this is just my opinion.

I'm an idiot and you actually mentioned the 8600GTS lol. Yeah, blow nearly $100 on a card that won't even last into the end of this year. 9600 offers over triple the FPS of the 8600GT and is only double the price. You also fail to realize he's running a E2180 @ stock. I stand by my patience statement. You can persuade him to purchase a card that'll have no value in a 6 months since that's the "smart" thing to do.

Sincerely,

Idiot
