Which Graphics Card?

so im building my gaming computer but im tossing up between two graphics cards. i dont know which one will suit me better.
i currently have
-16gb ram 2133Mhz
-i7 2600k 3.4ghz (turbo 3.8ghz)

so which card would suit better. i hate having things over heat so thats why i considered water cooling but the size doesn't matter because im also getting a full tower gaming case

I would go for the 6970. I have tryed both nevidia and ati cards in the past, but for me the patches and over all performance of the cards (quality) is better. It aslo depends on what mobo you have and compatability.
 
Im a bit partial to the GTX570. I have one, and it has killed everything I have thrown at it. Benchmarks for it beat out the 6970 for several games, so depends on what you play. By what I know, both cards are a good choice though.

Yes i also believe both cards are great, its just a few of the nevidia cards burnt out on me, that's why i said better quality. But this was 2 years ago and quality might be up or even better.
 
I would get the 6970. I've got an HIS IceQ 5770 and I really like how cool the card stays . Hopefully the IceQ design works as well with a 6970.
