Which Intel processor is the best for laptops?

Im saving up money for a laptop and Im thinking about getting a Intel Core Duo but I heard Conroe was coming out so I might wait until they make Conroe processors for laptops. Should I go with Pentium M, Core Duo, or js wait until Conroe comes out? Thanks
 
If you are wanting to get it soon, i would reccomend Core Duo. I cant remember the name of it but there is a new chip coming out with the Conroe. There will be three launched. One desktop, one mobile and a server chip.
 
Well since I dont even have any money to buy a laptop, I still have plenty of time to save up so I guess when Conroe comes out with a mobile proc Ill get it then. Did anyone else hear anything about Conroe mobile processors?
 
So Merom will be the next Core Duo mobile processor right? Not to get confused with Intel Pentium M. Damn, Intel has too many processors. They should js make it things more simple like AMD

Its Conroe, not exactly Core Duo.

Right now the major laptop cpus from Intel are Pentium M, Core, and Celeron M. AMD also has many cpu's, like the Athlon 64 Mobile, AMD Turion 64, and Sempron.
 
Merom will be the next big thing for Intel mobile processors. It's still on the Core Duo platform and it will still have the same letter designation as the current Duo Cores "T". The (Conroe's "E" designation) will be the desktop versions of the Merom mobile processors. They should have a higher clock and up to 4mb cache. Conroe's should be out this summer and Merom should be out in Winter.
 
ah i see... thanks for clearing things up laptop extreme. im sure you would know b/c your so laptop extreme... lol no but seriously thanks ill be waiting for the next big thing for intel laptops.
