which is better dell or apple

well i mean thats like apples and oranges, you cannot compare them. apples are nice, well built and have a good operating system, but with dell, the average person can get a computer with a dual core processor, 2gb of ram and windows vista for an affordable price. so i'll say again, you cannot compare them.

what do you intend on doing with the laptop? I would also probably recommend a few other PCs over a Dell if you want a windows machine.

To each his own. Generally, Dell for a PC gamer, Apple for a media/graphics person. For the average person, either way is fine, although PCs still carry more support and familiarity.

Apple has decent hardware for outrageous prices. Hard to impossible to upgrade. Dells are decent hardware for great prices (specialy if you get their small business deals). tlarkin has a point. Dell are not the only PC company. Which is a plus in my opinion be cause you have more options and more competition which leads to better prices.

But like smoothjk said, it all depends are what you are going to do. I personally hate apple because of the fact you have to pay for updates and their hardware is not worth the money the charge for it.
