Which is better?

I'm a gamer, I purchased an HD3870 in january, but now there are cards higher than that. I was wondering if 1 Nvidia 9800GT was better than putting another HD3870 in and crossfiring?

I read somewhere that crossfiring 2 HD3870s is roughly a 30% increase... but if there's more than a 30% increase from switching to a 9800GT, I'll go that route.

two 3870's is (barely) better than a 9800gtx+, and the HD 4850. you'd probably be best off just getting two HD 4850's imo.. but whatever suits your budget i guess.

general rankings:
HD4870X2
GTX 280
9800GX2
HD4870
GTX 260
HD3870X2
9800GTX+
HD4850
8800Ultra
9800GTX
8800GTX
8800GTS 512MB (G92 Revision)
8800GT 512MB
HD3870 512MB
9600GT
HD2900XT 1GB
HD2900Pro 1GB
HD2900XT 512MB
HD2900Pro 512MB
8800GTS 640MB
HD3850 512MB
8800GT 256MB
8800GTS 320MB
7950GX2
8800GS/9600GSO
HD 3850 256MB

note: the 3870x2 ultimately differs from 3870 xfire in no way except that it uses another slot. the performance is within 1fps depending on system specs etc...
as for the 9800GT, the rankings didn't have it on there. you can expect it to perform lower than the 9800gtx though, and higher than the 8800gt 512mb.
