Which is better?

Here are the specs between them:

6600GT - 500Mhz Core, 1000Mhz Memory, 8 Pipelines, 128-bit, 128MB, OpenGL 1.5
6800XT - 350Mhz Core, 600Mhz Memory, 8 Pipelines, 256-Bit, 256MB, OpenGL 2.0

The 6800XT is slightly better, but i would go with the 6600GT since its much cheaper.
 
what types of games could i play with a:
6800xt w/ or a 6600gt w/
skt 939 3000+ amd 64
dfi lanparty
1 gig ram
and the xt is better than a norm 6800 rite?

no Hawk16 6800xt is worser than normal 6800

how could u know that 6800xt is better ?? the 6600GT has higher clock speed. the 6800xt has a slightly better memory bandwidth but this doesn't mean that it is better than 6600GT

You could play games like call of duty 2 and battlefield 2 at relatively high settings
 
6600GT is hands down a better card than the 6800XT, but if you get into the 6800GS and 6800GT, then those are clearly better than the 6600GT. But seeing your price range, go with the 6600GT. And I assume you have an AGP Board correct?
