that might be too much for your mobo to handle... i would stick to 2x1gb get overclocking/dualchannel ram

but it is with the comp im getting. they have the mobo for that i might even get 2.66 ghz. also it has 8 RAM slots

Not true at all.

It does with my motherboard, but you just go into the BIOS and OC them to thier actual speed.

Honestly the performance difference isn't really noticable. The biggest difference is upgradibility

couldn't have worded it better myself...
with 512MBx4 u have all your ram slots used up and if u want to upgrade u have to remove 2 of ur ram sticks at least..

with 1GBx2 u have 2 ram slots open and when u want to upgrade u just stick your new ram in...


the performance is not nearly enough (or even noticable) to justify the unupgradability...
