which is better

id go for the intel ive heard that all of a sudden the new models amds have been getting a lil wacky because there beginning to get too complex (AND THATS NOT ME SAYING THAT THATS JUST A RUMOR IVE HEARD)

i used a benchmarking program on my friends comp and the amd got 9000 MIPS and 3428 MFLOPS and the intel got 8769 MIPS and 3741 MFLOPS. Lol i dont really no wut anyof that means but i assume its about calculations so just to make a lil bar graph this is how it looked on teh benchmark program (SiSoftware Sandra):
AMD:
---------------------------------------------------------- 9000 MIPS
------------------------------- 3428 MFLOPS
Intel:
-------------------------------------------------------- 8769 MIPS
---------------------------------- 3741 MFLOPS

Um ya lol well its 12:15 and christmas is tomarrow and i just chugged a 2 liter bottle of mountain dew so im very awake and very bored so lay off the criticism on this over exceding info post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol i just tgought that seeing a a bunch of numbers is rather more confusing than a chart so ya bye! :P

from the video game bench mark I seen. the athlon 64 3000 has a very slight lead over the p4 3.0e in open gl. In direct x 9 the athlon 64 3000 has a much more commanding lead over the p4 3.0e. while one small it still better and the other much better. This is why I recommending the amd to my friend. If gamming was not his primary goal I might think differently but it is. The amd even a little cheaper which a bonus. Finally in the future he could easily upgrade to a higher athlon 64 which does awsome in gamming.

Yeah, the AMD is a little slow, but you could upgd to the FX.
Yes but stop and think for a second -- think about the class of chips we are comparing. Thinnk about budget and intent considerations.

I'm not good with comparisons

All too well
Well then a lesson learned: dont boast too much early on. Not everyone forgets. Of course, boasts have a basis...

then am assuming you agree that in it price range the athlon 64 3500 is the best you can get.
No, i just noted that the selection is a bit easier to make between the various chips ... I cant make a comment as far as value goes because i dont know what the new budget is :)
