I just ordered an R-60 Thinkpad that has a Core Duo Processer 1.83GHZ for around $680 including tax & shipping. This laptop is only going to be used as a second computer when I'm too lazy to get out of bed & go to my desktop in the den, for just the internet (wi fi broadband cable) & downloading, no gaming.
Anyway, after I purchased this, a T60 Thinkpad Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66GHz has become available for about $750 including shipping & tax. The hard drive space is roughly the same with the same XP operating system I want & the same 512 Ram (I am upgrading that to 2 GB). Anyway, does the T60 sound significantly faster for what I'm using it for that I would be better off with that & thus buy it & resell the R-60 or is it not significantly better to bother with? Thanks for any opinions
