Which laptop is better for my needs?

I would suggest option 2. Here's why:

Both laptop's have suitable processing speed. both the AMD quad core and the Intel i7 will be more than enough for any sort of gaming.

However it all comes down to the GPU. For gaming, this should be your main focus.

The Toshiba uses Intel Mobile Graphics, while the Envy uses AMD Radeon HD 8610G graphics. The AMD radeon card will deliver better performance over the Intel HD mobile graphics, not by a huge margin, but nonetheless it will perform better.

In my opinion, i would avoid any laptop that has "Intel HD graphics" for the purpose of gaming.
