Which Laptop to get?

Hey everyone,

Computer noob here looking to upgrade my current toshiba laptop. I am looking for something mainly for online poker (minimal gaming I suppose), and just everyday use I guess (video, youtube, browsing, school, etc). I don't need the nicest setup but would like something decent. After doing some research, I narrowed it down to these two (both refurbished- if these are shitty I'll get something new, but they seem like a good way to get a nicer model on a budget):

I believe #2 would suit my needs just fine but the other one is comparable and regularly priced $400 more then the ASUS. I'm not even sure if these computers are worth it but from my limited research the specs on these units are really nice (intel core i7 specifically for under $700). Anyway I'm not locked into buying either of these units if someone recommends something better or if these are shitty. Also I'm looking for another monitor to attach to this as well (24"+) if anyone has recommendations on those as well.

There both very nice, I would personally go with Asus only because I know it is built better.

Both of them are used computers. The Asus is cheaper and have dedicated video card, better quality build. it has less ram and hard drive but are upgradable. and not much. so if is me. I will take the Asus anytime before the HP.
