What shall I choose?

It will mainly be used for music (A lot of it), minor gaming (Maybe WoW occasionally), and school.

I love my Vaio. If you read online and plenty of people on this forum I am sure will support me on this but Hp is garabage. There computers break sooner then most and I would say there Tech support is one of the worst I have ever had to deal with.

I love my Vaio the one listed in my signature, it's performance and battery is well matched for what I paid and the quality of the build feels very high end.

I second the Vaio vote. Quality is much better and you'll get a much better gpu than the HP has, I'm also a bit of an Intel fanboy so the I5 is definitely nice.

HP's are not reliable, I think of them along the lines of Acer in terms of quality/performance/reliability. Sony is a name I trust more, which if nothing else would be my reason to choose it in this instance. From what i'm seeing though, I like the processor, the monitor resolution, and the graphics card of the Sony better.

The HP multimedia laptops have improved quite a lot these months, but still its not better than Sony. The above specs make Sony the better choice. Also the P960 quad core scores very low in benchmarks due to its architecture.

Thank you, the help is appreciated. I was also thinking the Sony. I've never heard any complaints about them at all.

Sony is the better choice. Customer support with HP is like pulling teeth. I'm currently using a Lenovo Thinkpad in which I think is pretty much the top of the line in notebooks! Yes more expensive but worth it in the end.

I had a problem with my LCD on my Sony Vaio once. It may have been my fault. (children in the house) But I was easily able to find a replacement screen for under $110.00. (www.epartsbin.net) I followed the instructions on Youtube. And installed the screen myself! 20mins in and out. Sony Vaio was very easy to work on.

Good luck!
