Which LCD monitor should I get?

Hey guys, I'm torn between two monitors. One is 24'' and one is 23'' and the 24'' has better response time, but the 23'' has better reviews. Someone with good knowledge of LCD's please help me out, here's the link to both:

The 23'':

The 24'':

I'm a hardcore gamer so I don't want any ghosting effects.

Also, tell me if my computer won't be able to take full advantage of them for some reason:

Pentium 4 3.04 ghz
1 GB of RD 1066 ram
Radeon 9700 pro

Thank you very much to everyone who helps :)

1. I would definitly go with the first one.

2. With your GPU, I dont know if you can reach the high resolutions of a 24inch monitor. But i could be wrong. I cant check becuase they dont even sell 9700 pros on newegg.com

3. This is a very good monitor, i dont know the response times but it has gotten great reviews

Go for the HP. Any response time under around 10ms isn't noticeable, and it's cheaper by $20, too. Warranty is excellent on both, I see. I don't see a problem with your PC and compatibility.
Which one would I get? This one:

Slightly smaller, but so is the price, and ViewSonic image quality is topnotch.

EDIT: D'oh! I hadn't paid attention to the response time for the HP as being a whopping 16ms! That's a bit high for gaming, so ghosting might indeed be a problem. Sorry for the oversight, Emper0r! :(

I would go with the first one as well.

If your a hardcore gamer, then why dont you invest some money in good computer parts and not $1000 on a monitor, lol

If your a hardcore gamer i would tell you get the new dell 30" its so fu**kin good you wont belive it

i am using it right now its for true gamers but if its not for your budget i would go for the first one .

Thanks a bunch to everyone for the replies, I've got a couple more questions:

1. Is there any way to do a benchmark or something to see if my vid card can take full advantage of either of those monitors? I don't really wanna spend a grand on something I can't use :P

2. The 23'' HP also has 0 negative reviews, is HP typically a good brand for LCD monitors? If not, what are considered the top 3 LCD monitor brands?

Someone mentioned if I'm spending this much why don't I just buy better comp parts/build a new comp. The main reasons are that my comp right now is already pretty fast, I mean 3.04 ghz p4 with 1 GB RD 1066 ram is not slow by any means plus I don't really wanna spend another $2000 building a new comp(if I was building one I would want top of the line everything).

Thanks again guys!

Spraybottle acually you are wrong you just need about 4 high end graphic cards and a server cpu like mabye two nice AMD Opteron 285

2.6 times 2 is about 5.2 ghz and overclock it to like 6.5 with some nice water cooling and your good you can run many windows xp's on that pc

I know it cuz i have this crazy friend some rich dude loaded with a lot of cash he has a pc like that but he loves pc's

he is crazy about pc's

He had overclocked the two AMD Opteron 285 's to 7.1 ghz with two Asetek VapoChill LightSpeed and that is crazy

His pc is similar to this guys pc he has the Asetek VapoChill LightSpeed one on the botton of his case and one on the top like this dude "SLI-1933 Extreme Lian Li" on the club sli website

http://www.slizone.com/content/slizone/clubsli.html

He is the second due with 7.12 points as of 4/30/2006

1. Specs for your card are here:
http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9700/radeon9700pro/specs.html
Since this is an LCD screen, you can run up to 2048x1536 pixels with no problem, at 60Hz. Since the HP is 1920X1200 native/maximum resolution, and the Radeon can support that up to 75Hz, your card would work fine.
2. As far as I have read, the top 3 brands of LCD screens are ViewSonic, Samsung, NEC, in no particular order. Just my two centavos.
