Which Macbook?

Lol, The CPU is fine if the price is right. I am saying for $999 I better get at least a i5 but with Apple you could only hope for a i3 at that price considering if you want dedicated graphics card from Apple in a laptop mininum expected to pay is $1800.

They may be quality built and OSX MAY be better then Windows but in the end I would never pay there prices for such low hardware.

heheh, I'm just saying my 2 or so year old one it's still pretty snappy. I would love an i series, but after buying a house frivolous spending on yearly computer upgrades is out of the question. These older gen processors are still doing me good :)

Of course entirely offtopic. So in attempt recover this I'd say macbook pro, unless your goal is ultraportable and not power, in which case the air. At this point in time the vanilla macbook is terrible value since the price has been the same on the same hardware for close to two years.

+1 to that.

For the price those CPU is garabge with what you pay. The "i" series is so much better and with the drop in cost over the two years Apple could put a i3 in there and not change the price one bit.

Apple just know's there user base are idiot's and would pay that much for a computer that cost them literally nothing to build cause there user base doesn't know the difference in hardware and the build cost, this is obvious that Apple Users are generally stupid (not calling anyone out) cause the product is still selling!

@OP It really depends what you're going to be using it for. Each have their own advantages, I personally think the MBP is the best bang for the buck though.

Always keep an eye on this before buying anything Apple;

I think I already said the MBP is the best for the money and yes the Intel Core 2 duo is crap for the price.

Let me clear this up, the Core 2 Duo is a good cpu and are amazing for the price they are today and for when they came out. But for the price, a "i" series CPU would be a better option. What I am getting at is this computer is still the same price and utilizing the same hardware it came with two years ago. This is where I make my point that Apple users are generally stupid cause it is still selling cause if it did not sell it would have had some new hardware put in it s year ago or Apple would have dropped the price to encourage new sales.

All you Core 2 Duo owners stop getting hurt cause even your not stupid enough to purchase a $999 laptop with that kind of hardware with the cpu's that are out today.

Am I the only one that see's the Macbook as a crap investment, before you attack this post please understand I am not saying anything bad about the MBP, unless we start to discuss price with the fact you have to get a Intel HD GPU unless you pay $1800 and above.
