Which mobo is better?

ASUS A8N-SLI Premium ATX AMD Motherboard !, no sli card to change and no chipset fan that will probably fail like the deluxe version !

Well, what happen is I had initially order the Premium, but then it went out of stock, then I ordered Deluxe, and guess what, Premium was available again now.

I'm wondering if I should go thru the trouble to ship the Deluxe back and get Premium.

What do you guys think?

well, if you really feel you want to return DONT OPEN IT
or they wont take it.

the deluxe should be fine, the permium is no dout better but i really dont thik you shuold run into trouble.

if you dont plan on going SLI, basicly go for the deluxe most of the extra cost goes to the SLI

i don't plan on doing any upgrade or modification with the computer in the near future. But let's say I want to go SLI , let's say, next year, do I have to buy a new mobo?

Man, I guess I'm just gotta use this, as I don't even know how SLI really works. I guess I won't need that in the near future. (I have Geforce 7800 GT, I hope that would last for awhile)

And I was checking the review of this mobo in newegg. they said if I'm using 2GB Corsiar RAM, I will need to update my BIO immeidately otherwise it will hang... Well, I just happened to have that, how do I update the BIO? BTW, I haven't receive them yet, I just placed the order yesterday.

Thanks for your help.

SLI and Bios flash

Hey there... I purchased the A8N-SLI Premium... and let me say... worth every penny. Finished the install tonight with 2 X Asus 6800GT's. As far as the Deluxe version goes... I had great luck with my old mobo.. a Asus A8V-Deluxe which is AGP but it was just awesome as well. In order to flash the bios you can find the new bios settings and full instructions at http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
It's not that hard... I found out... I did my first flash on the A8N-SLI Premium and it went smoothly.
Now on to about SLI.. How that works is if you have an SLI capable mobo and have 2 cards it pretty much splits the screen in two. One vid card covers the top half of the screen and the other takes the bottom half. So if you think the 7800GT looks good now... get 2 of them and you won't believe your eyes, lol. Have fun!!!!:D

You can mod the "Ultra" to SLi, all you need is the bridge after that. Its a hardware mod though, so if your not comfortable doing that just get the ASUS if you want SLI.

i too am looking for a good 939 socket amd board. however idk if im wanting to shell out the roughly 170 bucks for the premium. are there any good mobo's that suppport sli for close to the same performance as the premium?

Gigabyte

If you don't want to spend the money for an ASUS board I would suggest getting a Gigabyte board. Close to the same performance but half the price.

A8N Deluxe it is a SLI cause why do think is called A8N SLI Deluxe and also it says it on the box . maybe is another Deluxe but the A8N it is. If you go to neweggs.com and you click on the mobo pic you can see that it has 2 slots for PCI-E also on the box is says 2 PCI-E 16x SLI mode.

I'm working on posting more on this site but please trust me... my good friend that competes with me all the time over who has the better setup always picks gigabyte over asus (because he dosn't want to spend the extra like me:D ) But all the same his board performs amazing for the price. Mine just barely has an edge on his.. my mobo has more features then his gigabyte but like I said before... 4 posts dosn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about...

The premium. Premium models are always flag :)

Worth it (unless u willing to get a NB cooler :))

Well are you buying SLI to keep up with an aging system or to stay bleeding edge? Cuz in a year or so, the bottleneck wont just be the SLI :)

yes, the mobo "deluxe" inst SLI ready
Um... did you just say the A8NSLI Deluxe isnt SLI capable?

I don't even know how SLI really works
VIDEO CARD 101

Asus A8V-Deluxe which is AGP but it was just awesome as well
As far as VIA K8T800Pro boards go, its one of the better ones ... but for K8-AGP boards, its far from great, boarderlining mediocrity really as far as a power-user/gamer is concerned.... the board is a SOHO oriented board and excels in that profile

You dont need the bridge to do SLI :)

If you're getting SLI then my board will run circles around you .. hell, even if you do run SLI i still got a chance.

can anyone back him up on that statement? idk if i should believe someone who just made their 2nd post.
Post count means nothing. Lots of people on forums with zillions of posts who dont know jack all about computers.

Newegg is retarded. The board is 2 PCIE x8 SLI mode.

Possibly but generalizations that encompass entire companies is just askling for trouble: for instance, my box will run circles around you in non-sli mode and my NF4 SLI-DR WILL run circles (even my NF4 UltraD will keep up with you) around you .. but thats not to say DFI is better than ASUS cuz the A8N32SLI Premium wil outpace them both.
