okay guys i have a dell right now with a pentium d I am thinking of transfering it to a different case and upgrading the mobo, and I am hoping to find one that will work with pentium d and later will allow me to upgrade to the core 2 duo, and in my dreams to the upcome 4 core q4, any suggestions

Now it depends on whether you want to or can order from newegg for the board there or go elsewhere. That was the best besides a Gigabyte model seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128016

Unfortunately(typical) they were out of the MSI model there. The case and supply is another matter depending on what you are looking on both power and style and type of case. If you are into gaming you will also want to look at some extra cooling large case fans, water cooling, air conditioned cases, and the whole lot if your budget allows.

On a semi gaming build here used for other things like media and video capture the lack of front intake and 120mm fans saw the board temps up on a Socket 939 board. It now sits in an Aerocool case that ran some $80. The front intake fan(140mm blue led) 120mm rear exhaust, olus two other 120mm fans on the side cover saw board drop down and stay below 40C. An Antec TP II 480w supply currently handles the two 250gb ide drives, cd and dvd burner as well along with an MSI Radeon X1300 Pro 256mb video card. These are a few things to look at since a newer NVidia model card would also want to see a 450w of higher supply if gaming.
