Which monitor do you prefer?

The preference here would be on the Viewsonic model seen at the first link while Samsung models sees the lower 2ms response time. The one thing the Acer model offers is the HDMI connectivity while the Viewsonic also sees built in speakers. The Samsung doesn't.

So you prefer the Viewsonic ?

You don't need such a low response time I have 8 ms and I think it's fine so the 5 should be good.

I'd say the samsung one is the best but it's expensive.

I'm not sure.

Samsung all the way, just remember that a 2ms GTG is actually about 8ms BTB, so check what each manufactuer is measuring by.I have a samsung 216BW and love it, and am thinking about getting the new one(one that replaced my model) to use as a dual monitors, speedy, sharp, clear, bright.

On the Samsung is the picture going to be good when i run games?

What i'm looking for is to be good for games and for movies( i love crystal picture ), to have High Definition and to be around 250$ that's why i stopped on those three monitors.. I know the Samsung doesnt have the HD though... if you have any suggestions please post them... thank you... :)

Another Viewsonic model is priced at $269.99 with a $30 rebate that sees HDMI and High Defintiion support. You can look that over at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116400 The rebate brings the total down to $239.99 + S&H

Ouch! on the crt there! I finally replaced the 17" lcd I was using for about 3yrs. with a 2005 model Viewsonic Viewdock 19" widescreen 5ms over the old BenQ's 12ms that sees a taller base stand instead of having to place a large book under the last. That's one thing about most lcd monitors you will want to consider there since they tend to sit low on the desk or surface they are used.

it may be a crt but mine sure is reliable and dont wanna throw it out as my dad got it for me many moons ago for just under $500(NZ) which was a great price back then

I like the other monitors too you guys showed me but i'm just stuck between the Samsung and the ViewSonic. They seem to have better specs...

There's nothing wrong with LG or Nec while the models instock right now in your price range were looked over where I ran across the Viewsonic model there. That would be a strong consideration over Samsung as others have found out since that looked like the best of the bunch for the time being.

(and then next week sees something else  ) That's typically the way things tend to go at any time. But you're the customer once you decide on which one will work for you.

The only thing i'm not sure is can i run games on the ViewSonic cuz it's saying the response time should be 8 or less... and this one is 2ms (GTG) which somebody here told me that's bout 8... shouldnt be less than 8? to run games smooth ?

I've been using a 17" LG LCD monitor with 8ms and I love it, nothing wrong with it.

What made you want to upgrade? The 19"?
