Which monitor do you prefer?

The almost 4 1/2yrs. old lcd saw a lot of milage and started seeing problems coming out of the standby mode when booting up in XP. Yet it would see the normal display when booting up in Vista seeing a few updated processes in the newer version.

I had already considered a larger lcd for some time until spotting a large drop in price recently on the 2005 model Viewdock with the one I took notice of being the taller base stand plus usb ports and a headphone jack seen on the base. When spotted in an office supply store on display I had them call another of the same to hold one for me at the $229.95 price seen.

Talk about prices the first lcd here was a 15" Proview that saw a $300 price tag that many years back. Recently in the last year or so you could find some really low prices on a variety of 22" models by different brands. Later prices started climbing up again. The one here was simply caught on a clearance sale being an older model and would likely run about the same as that old Proview 15".

Most of the Lcd panels today are cheaper Tn panels than models like IPS,PVA and MVA which have better colors and wider viewing angle.I bought a Hannspree 27.5 inch LCD awhile back and although I love the screen size someetimes the colors dont look quite right.Especially the black and dark colors.Its not just drivers .Playing games or watching movies you will probably be able to a difference between the types.Tn panels offer advantagesof being cheap and fast response times which the more expensive panels wont have.But people doing a lot of graphics work really cant use them(TN that is) due to not displaying true color's.

Sorry guys forgot to ask, is there another website like www.newegg.com i can take a look at their products? I usually use newegg cuz it's cheaper and i see a lot of people using it...
 
There are several other vendors with TigerDirect competing with mwave that will see their own selection. And yes newegg has certainly gained a popular rep for seeing lower prices as well as rebates and vendor discounts quire often.

Another way to see which lcd will work best for you is simply to look over lcd reviews and then try to price a particular make and model at various vendors for the lowest. One recent review can be seen at http://compreviews.about.com/od/monitors/tp/Wide20inchLCD.htm
 
Some of the prices seen on the better brands will tend to higher at the two vendors there and that one review is on three lcds alone. But several articles simply have to be looked for before you will run into one or two models reviewed you might consider. That's usually how that works.
 
Yup i'll review them and then i'll try to find other information on the internet and then i'll decide thanks for the help.
 
Hope you find something good in one of them. Keep in mind thing like HDMI and DVI as well HD and a good response time for gaming reasons.
