Which Monitor?

I just finished my second build and now want to replace the older monitor I am currently using. How can I tell if I am buying "too much" monitor than what the video card can handle (if there is such a thing)? I wanted to go with a 27" LCD but am not sure it will work. Here is my graphics card

Thanks for your help.

The amount the video card can handle depends on the resolution of the monitor. Most 27" monitors are 1080p, meaning if you are coming from a lower resolution, you would see a drop in fps. However, that graphics card should handle it fine.

If you're gaming, that card will suffer at such high resolutions. If you're going to be gaming that card will be a little weak for most modern resolutions (1680x1050+) and you'll probably want an increase in video horsepower to make the most of your shiny new monitor. For things like HD video and just general use though, it'll manage a 27" just fine.

Asus is probably the highest recommendation. I've heard good things (surprisingly) about Acer monitors, and quite like the Acer led one I'm using at the moment. LG seems to have a decent reputation as well. I'm far from an expert on monitors though, so you might want a second opinion, but that's just what I go by.
