Which Motherboard to Pair with Core i5?

Hey guys,

I'm slowly piecing together a new build and have decided to run the Core i5 due to overwhelming recommendations... however when it comes to motherboards I have no idea to distinguish the qualities and characteristics of one from another... I just assume the more expensive it is the better... but i'm not sure what I need vs what is nice to have vs complete overkill...

If you could help out it would be greatly appreciated. These are the current combos on NewEgg I am looking at...

I'm using the computer for moderate gaming... Mass Effect, Diablo 3, Skyrim

Oh, and by all means if you have a better recommendation than anything I listed here I am all ears.

Cheers,

Josh

Any ASUS P8Z68-V GEN3 board is my recommendation for the 2500K. Well priced and nice features.

Choose which one best fits your price bracket http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...1&isNodeId=1&Description=p8z68-v+gen3&x=0&y=0, the Pro GEN3 is what I'd go for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131790 for gaming the Z68 is a great chipset and it's pretty fast too. As it's only $20 more than the P8Z68-V GEN3 it's probably worth going for.

Pretty much any Z68 board is going to be good for gaming though, though the two brands I like most are ASUS and Gigabyte.

Thanks for the input. What exactly does the Pro board hold over the Gen3?
The PRO GEN3 has more USB/SATA ports (forget which now) and has onboard bluetooth I think. If you can live without the bluetooth and the extra USB/SATA ports then go for the P8Z68-V GEN3. 'GEN3' indicates that the board has PCI Express 3.0.

Gonna throw this board into the mix also... not real familiar with the brand though...
That board is also just fine and the P67 chipset is also pretty good too.
