Which Motherboard

Hi! I have a biostar tforce4 u motherboard that I wrecked the video on. I started having video problems, so I bought another pci-e card and installed it, but I had problems getting the original card I put in out, so I must have done something to the slot as now I have no video at all. I boot and the monitor screen never changes from it's first display---I can't even see a start up screen. The monitor is fine, as I use it with another computer. My question is, what motherboard can I replace this with? I can't get into the computer to see belarc advisor, so I can only go by memory as to the the parts. I'm pretty sure the cpu is an amd64 3800+, which model number I'm not sure. I remember there were 2 of them at that time and one was supposedly easy to overclock, so I got that one, though I never did overclock it. Well, I did for about an hour and didn't see any significant difference so I stopped. The memory, I believe is pc2700 ddr, though what manufacturer I haven't a clue. I know it had to be compatible with the board. What board could I get for under $50 that would fit my needs? The video card is a pci-e 8600gs. I figure replacing the board is the most viable way to go. Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated?

Thanks for the response. I've been looking at mobo combps. Is a foxconn board any good? There's a foxconn mobo with an amd 64x2 4400+ cpu for a $100. Thanks.

Don't waste $100 on really old technology. For near $121 you could get the following:

GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2 Motherboard - $60.75

Athlon 3800+ Dual-Core (2.0 gigahertz) Socket AM2 Processor - $35 (Your old heatsink will work with this processor)

G.SKILL 1 gigabyte 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) RAM - $26

You could upgrade later to a sweet Phenom II Quad-Core Processor with the above Gigabyte brand motherboard. You could also upgrade your memory later if all you wanted to buy is 1 gigabyte of RAM for the present. I also hope you have a Windows installation disk. You are going to need it.

I think that the gigabyte mother boards are not bad but i find that intel cpu's are the best to use. They are quite expensive but they last you for a long time. Also what is your price range exactly.

The problem with Intel is they switch motherboards sockets all the time so it is more expensive to upgrade a system. If he were to go with Intel I would suggest a Socket 1156 motherboard but that is going to be more expensive than what I previously suggested.
