Which NEC Drive?

Hello

I am buying my pc through monachcomputer.com and am stuck on deciding which NEC DVD+- RW Drive I should purchase:

My Options are

NEC ND 3540-A 16X Dual Layer -> $42
or
NEC ND 3520A-KIT-BG 16X Dual Layer - $45

Here is where Im puzzled... The NEC 3540 is the newer one right? It also shows fast reads on DVD-R and DVD Dual Layer, but why is the 3520 more expensive?

I looked on newegg.com and only could find the 3520A not 3520A-KIT-BG any help here? Which should I go with?

Also my case (XASER 3) is black and my opticals are beige (I really dont feel like paying 5 dollars more on everything to get black... is there anyway to paint them black; does it really look bad?

ahh...

Could it be the 3520 is RETAIL
and the 3540 is OEM.

Whats the difference and is it better to go with one over the other even if one is newer version?
