Which of these laptops are better

You won't even be able to lightly game with either of those. Upgrade your budget and you'll get much better performance.

the asus had reviews that say it can do light gaming like minecraft.

I don't have a job and I think this friday I might get one so I could eventually buy a dedicated gaming desktop. I have always wanted to play WOW since like 2009 and I don't care if it is barebones in graphics on the laptop and if it is not possible to play it at all I could wait.

I don't know how to edit posts, but I am also interested in playing runescape '07 which is not graphics intensive at all.

Bottom right of your post. It looks like this:

Have you got monitor/ TV?
Have you consider spending $350 for a budget desktop, than you can upgrade later?

I do have a tv and a monitor I think.

With $330 - 350, look for something with intel pentium in micro atx tower.

If you want to build your own, something like this

OEM Windows will be $100 on top.

If I were to get the inspiron which I am leaning towards, I would probably replace the hdd with an ssd, but would the asus be worth getting if I could do the same?

I personally think these computers would run Minecraft quite slowly. It's never really been a "light game".

The main spec you need for Minecraft is RAM. And a good CPU of course.
