Which of these two low cost CPU's is better?

What I am looking for is a quiet computer, right now I have the AMD Athlon X2 3800 which is old and I am really tired of CPU fan working hard to keep it cool thus making a lot of noise. So I am ready for a little upgrade in power and quietness. I usually use the PC for Linux and Windows XP only to play BF2 (which is like an old game now :) , so no gaming machine to run that :0 ).

After looking through Newegg I was really surprised that prices and extremely cheap :) for older dual cores and here are the two choices. Please tell me which one is a better choice Thank you.

MD Athlon X2 4850e 2.5GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core Processor

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Brisbane 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core
 
with the lower wattage with the 4850, you can probably over clock it higher. if you leave it stock, buy the 5200. but with a little more money the best bet is the 6000+ athlon 64x2.
 
well, i haven't bought an AMD in a long time, but from what i can see those are the exact same processor with a different stock voltage (as well as different stock clock). my guess is that the 4800 will run cooler, but won't overclock as high. your pick. but, if you're overvolting then it really depends on the specific processor. one 5200 will overclock worse than one 4800 and better than another 4800. get what im sayin?
 
your best option for a quiet computer isn't a new cpu in my opinion, its a larger heatsink and a larger fan. the bigger the fan for more airflow you'll get per decibel.

if you can fit it in your case, i suggest the thermaltake big typhoon. if you want a very simple and easy solution then i suggest the arctic freezer pro, one that fits your processor. even easier: buy a new fan that fits your current heatsink.

the noise could also be due to your case fans.. or even a video card fan.
 
I already have the Arctic cooler fan installed. What I am looking for is a quiet computer. If 45Watt performs just as good as the 65Watt CPU that I listed (when not overclocked) but produces less heat = lower fan speeds = quieter computer. That is what I am going for. Thank you.
