which one (cpu/ram) is bottlenecking my video card?

I recently upgraded from a 9600xt to a x1950pro, and the changes were not as big as i expected(i didnt expect THAT big of a change), so im assuming either my processor (amd athlon 64 3400+ 2.4ghz) or my ram (1gb 333mhz ddr) could be bottlenecking the potential of my new video card

Im kinda thinkin the ram being more of the issue here, but i was wondering what u guys thought bout this
 
actually its probably the fact that its an agp card.

if ur running out of ram, thats a big issue.

what game and settings?
 
Agp cards are usually only alittle bit behind there PCI-e counterparts.. Agp is still a viable gaming socket, make no illusion.

I think it's the RAM, 1Gb is no longer good enough, go for a another gig. Sooner or later you'll have to upgrade your chip too. If you're running a s939 newegg may still have some x2 3800's in stock, they were running for $60.

ya i agree, the ram is very out of date, do u suggest i just get another gig of the 333mhz ram, or just buy a whole new 2gb(2x 1gb) set of 400 mhz ram, and unfortunatly with the cpu, my mobo is a 754 socket(i know it is quite old/out of date) and i dont think there are any dual core processors that are compatible with a 754 socket and i dont think there are many better single core processors than the one i have that are 754 socket, so i guess sometime in the future ill have to upgrade my cpu with a new Mobo, but ill also have to make sure it has an agp slot on it
 
Make sure it has a PCi-e slot on it you mean ;) Agp is still fine but it's on the edge of a cliff.. dragging your agp card into a build in the future would be mistake IMO.

As for the RAM speed, it's up to you. I forget how much you can get 2Gb of Pc3200 these days but I'd guess around $50-60..

well an agp slot would be kind of a priority right now since i JUST bought this video card which is agp, but there r some Mobo's out there that have both agp and pci-e, probably look into one of those in the future when i decide to upgrade my cpu/ mobo
