Which one is better for a gaming

Why not just make one thread with all the questions in the desktop thread instead of all over the place if you haven't already, but the 480 is better than the 6870, since i know my 470 is just below a 6870, but not sure if it worth the price check anandtech.com's bench section.
 
I think these cards are probably very similar, but I think the 480 is slightly better. Although the 6870 is cheaper than the 480. It's your choice :P.
 
Somewhat similar, but I'm a fan of Nvidia and EVGA so I would probably recommend the Nvidia card just for those reasons.
 
I would go 6870. 480 had a lot of problems with heat and power usage.

What games are you looking to play? That might help us determine what card would be better.
 
480 needs more cooling and power, but it's also a better performer. 6870 is a great card, but it's midlevel and 480 is a highlevel card.
