Which one is lying to me?

When I open speedfan it says my cpu temp is 51c and when I open AMD Overdrive is shows my cpu temp at 40c. Which one is correct?

try hw monitor, if it agrees with one of those then those 2 are probs right

Speed fan sucks and has for along time. Other then for controlling fan speed ignore temp readings. You have a socket temp sensor and a CPU temp sensor. AMD probably uses the CPU temp sensor.

if it's a gigabyte mobo/they have et6 at their website, it also has temp
my amd overdrive and et6 show same temps

Speed fan does stink, HWMonitor is a lot better. At least it matches my AMD Probe II readings
