I currently have Norton Internet Security on my PC and I've been happy with its performance. Its now due for subscription renewal. Someone told me I should get Norton Anti Virus instead of the Internet Security....
Can anyone give me advise on what is the difference between the two ?
I've been to the Norton website and compared their Key Features. It just made more confused. They seem to do the same thing. I'm just a basic PC user (as my username suggests) and I just use the internet to do research of consumables for my family... holiday destinations and that sort of thing... plus paying my bills via BPay.

They are both garbage. Trust me. Don't waste your money. If you want a good program, I recommend Ewido for antispyware, coupled with Microsoft Defender, Avast or AVG for virii (both are free. If you want a subscription one, Panda is by far the best out there). Zone Alarm for a free firewall. Norton is a joke. ;)

Yes dont buy Norton at all its just a waste of money and dont go near mcaffee either. But Zone Alarm is good and so is Computer Associates same thing as Zone Alarm just different name. Or you could go with what Sirkenin said.

I agree what everyone is saying but I just want to answer what gumby777 wated to know.

Norton Internet Security has a firewall,anti-virus, privacy control, antispam and parental control.

Norton Anti-virus is just for viruses. It doesn't have a firewall and everything else as Norton Internet Security has. The only thing that is the same is the anti-virus.

Actually, both of them also have anti-spyware bundled as well.

As for renewing the subscription, I recommend a combo of Ad-Aware SE and Spybot (the free versions) for adware and spyware, and Anti-Vir for viruses. Spybot has a great real-time protection option called "Tea Timer" that protects your registry as well as the adware and spyware. The other programs mentioned earlier are good options as well, but I have found this combination to work the best for me, especially Anti-Vir.
