Which one would you choose?

The first one with the X3 has the better graphics card and case, so I'd probably go for that. Once you get it though I'd upgrade the CPU to a Phenom II X4 965 or something (it will work with the motherboard just fine) and I'd also upgrade to 8GB of RAM.

Thanks for the feedback vista.

Anyone else disagree? I'm open to all fomentation and input. An an okay gaming computer and also to write stuff like college essays on.

Deffinatly the first one. Any upgrading will require a bigger psu on it.

Yeah possibly, a Radeon 6850 and a 430W PSU isn't a great combination. I'd upgrade the PSU to a Corsair CX 500 or CX 600 just to be sure. What you can do if you want is to upgrade one thing at a time and see if you get any difference in performance.

Thanks man. And is $450 a fair price in your opinion?

First one is better for long term. Both would be project fixups, but the first one would take less work, better components, and just plain looks better.
