Which one..

I am very soon gonna get my Athlon X2 (finallyy!) but anyways, I was thinking of upgrading my video card around christmas time [with money I save and money I get for christmas ]

I probably wont have that much so I was thinking.. which of these two are better, but either way they're both better than my GS right?

I'm not an expert with these cards but I'd say the second one because it has better speeds.

Look at specifications and look at core clock and memory clock speeds.

I reccomend getting the card I have. It's a 9600 GT (9800 GT are supposed to be better) that's one of the best (if not the best) 9600 gt's out there.

It's even better than the 8800 you mentioned.

Only 20 bucks more.

I would recomment the 8800GTS 512 because the cooling is awsome.

The 9800GT is basically the exact same as the 8800GT, and the 8800GTS (G92) outperformed the 8800GT by a lot. I had that exact 8800GTS and I loved it. I've since upgraded to a GX2, but that GTS is by no means a bad card, especially for only $109! When my dad bought it for Christmas for me last year it was $260.

And as for the 9600GT, it's not better than the GTS. It may have a higher core clock, but it has half the stream processors. The fact that the GTS has more stream processors than the 8800/9800GT is the main thing that made it outperform the GT, and it will do even better against the 9600GT.

So would the upgrade to a 8800GTS be worth it? Since theres the 9, GTX, and HD4xxx series cards now
