Which one?

what are the price differnces?

the hp has way more upgradable capibilities, once you buy that mac thats how it is untill you get a new computer, it only has 2 ram slots and its only upgradable to 4 gigs, thats alot of ram more then you need but with the hp it has 4 ram slots a way better video card that can always be upgraded i would go for the hp 1000% also its probably a few hundred cheaper

the HP has a quad core which although not many programmes multithread yet in a few years you'll probaby notice the difference.

Also the HP isn't a mac!

imo get the hp, because the apple products are extremly overpriced for the specs of the machine. Or if you were willing to venture into the territory of most people on these forums, build your own desktop and get even better specs;)

Personally I think you will get more life out of an Imac. This is because macs are reliable and very power full.

The hardware in a mac is less powerfull than the HP. The mac is practicly a laptop! The reason that the mac would possibly be quicker is coz of the os and if you want a reliable quick os you can always install linux on your pc and get better results!

go with the hp the 8800 on a mac would be worthless, you cant game any game on a mac so you would never use it, you dont use a graphics card for 2d pictures or video so theres not a point in having a 8800 on a mac

go with the hp and have windows you will find it can do everything a mac can do plus everything windows can do i have never seen a program strictly for a mac, but i see programs for mac and windows all the time,

True I did not think about Linux but on the other hand Linux takes Quite a bit of RAM to run unlike Macs OS or Windows.

Ronster remember that mac can run windows nowadays, so that's like the best of both worlds. Also, is the hp processor (AMD phenom 9500 quad core 2.2 ghz) better than the core 2 duo?
