I am wondering which board to pick for my new i7 2600k machine

MSI P67A-GD55 Motherboard

Or

Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4 Motherboard

I,think the Gigabyte will be a good choice.ave always went them or Asus. :D plus the Gigabyte looks pretty sweet with the new color scheme

Gigabyte.

MSI Still uses a 4+1 power phase design on boards that take phenom x6 cpu's. It's just not enough juice. The VRM's blow.

To be on the safe side get a board with an 8-pin cpu connector.

i havent seen MSI use 4-pin cpu connector in a while.on the AMD side, all 790fx and 890fx all use 8-pin connectors.on the intel side, the only mobos with an 4-pin connector is the 775 socket and some low-end 1156.

edit:and may i add that MSI is the only one that uses Solid Hi-c Cap's.which are waaay better than the standard capacitors which deliver the best stability, reliability, overclocking and lifespan possible for a mainboard

Not enough juice has nothing to do with it. The chokes work on a off and on phase. The more you have the less time each one is on. Like with a 4 vs. 8 phase. The 8 phase, each one is on 50% less. Means less heat.

Its just a heat and efficiency factor, not the amount of juice.
