Ok, so been looking on ebay at GPU's, and i still am, but this is what i've got so far, budget is about 55, but if there's something really good i can go about 80.

the second 250 is new along with the 9800gt akimbos, so that's pretty good

Remember that i'd like to stay as cheap as possible, so unless there's a big difference, that 3870 seems good to me right now. and this would go in my e-machine with the 500w roadkill, so remember that. I think this is it, says 2 20amps

And i was talking with voyagerfan, and he kept mentioning them being too old (before i found the 250), so from that point it seems good, and going by the hierarchy on tom's, it's also the fastest, so right now it and the 3870 are my favs.

Remember that a 250 and 9800GT are the same exact card. If you'd flash the BIOS on either of them, you'd be able to SLI them.

But yeah, the 250 outperforms the 3870 by a little. Power consumption is about the same. Just depends if that little performance boost is worth the extra $20.

What's the akimbo though? is it sorta like the 590 and 6990, 2 chips on it? cuz then it would be the best wouldn't it? otherwise, i'm thinking i want the 3870, especially if he'll take like 25 since it's obo.

Did some research and the akimbo is just an overclockers version of the 9800gt which is a shrunken 8800gt, so i'm not tooo interested in it. So now i'm thinking the 3870 or the 250, i'm still not sure want some personal opinions, what you'd do, on a budget like mine.

I would go for a 250. They are pretty good cards, but I am more than a little Biased for Nvidia.

I have to agree, just damn is all i can think of for those benches, but now i'm wondering, go ahead and get that new galaxy one

or wait for kennebell who i pm'd last week/over the weekend, but hasn't been on since the 19th...

i want the evga one, but it's used, i'm wondering if the galaxy will still have its warranty and all.

either way you go you should be good. I would trust EVGA more than i would galaxy, but the galaxy will have a warranty. Either way final call is yours.

what about kennebell's sparkle, i don't think the brand is that good, prob worse than galaxy, but it's 20 less

Anyone know how to contact him? email, steam, origin?

I don't really know. EVGA is good, one of the best. the other 2 are of questionable brands. Price aside, I think you should go for the better quality.

I saw your post in the "Newly Purchased Toy" thread, looks like you went for the GTS 250? I would say you made the right choice there, so well done and I hope you enjoy your card. It's the one I would've chosen out of the bunch.

Sorta regretting not getting the galaxy just because it was new, mighta had warranty, and was a 1gb, but i'll be fine with the 512mb and it's prob cooler so i can prob overclock it some.

Don't regret it, EVGA's a much better brand than Galaxy. You did go for the EVGA card right?

yep, but the stats part still makes me regret a little, but i've always hated spending money which is most of it, a day or so after i'm always thinking i coulda gotten something else, but i think playing some of the free steam games, crysis, bf2 and 2142, medal of honor, nfs shift and hot pursuit, and some other good games will take my mind off of that :D
