Which one?

Hi, I'm looking forward to buying a laptop, but I can't decide.

  • First of all, I would love some opinion on which are good laptops, capable of running games and normal functions, and a 256mb video card (if possible/recommended).

  • Secondly, which of these two is recommended (gaming[video], high capacity, velocity, etc, etc):

  • 1) Packard Bell - EASYNOTE MX-430
Processor: Intel Celeron M420 (how much is that? 1.8Ghz?)
    RAM: 1 GB
    Hard Drive: 80 GB
    CD-RW, DVDR-RW
    LCD 15.4"
    Windows Vista Home Basic
  • 2) HP - PAVILION DV 2425
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5300 Movil Intel Centrino Duo Technology
RAM: 1 GB DDR2 (DDR2 is better than the EASYNOTE MX-430 RAM?)
    Hard Drive: 160 GB
    CD-RW, DVDR-RW
    14.1" WXGA Widescreen
    Windows Vista Home Premium

  • Lastly, would I be able to upgrade (meaning buying another vid card [if thats even possible] for the laptop) the video card?

well you really can't upgrade a video card in a laptop, I actually don't think you can, but with both of those computers would be low end for gaming. Out of the 2 the HP DV 2425 is much better but if it has built in graphics your gaming options will be minimal.

the Packard Bell costs - $3399 (Argentine pesos) = U$S 1,076.35
the HP costs - $5999 (Argentine pesos) = U$S 1,899.68

Then what would you recommend for a laptop with good graphics (gaming) that is less than $1,900 dollars.

both off those are junky deals. i would recommend an HP dv6500 from HP.com (if you can get them to deliver to Argentina)

I don't get it lucky, you recommend the HP Pavilion dv6500, but i only find the dv6420la. Where is the dv6500? Could you send me a link?

I found these, but there are many dv6500's, click here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think i found the problem, I go into the www.hp.com website and I selected "Argentina - Spanish". I guess that when I choose that, it shows me the products available in Argentina, from which the dv6500 series isn't one of. But when I go into "United States - English" and I search for "dv6500" it does show me 2 results, these ones.

So does that mean that through HP, the HP Pavilion dv6500 isn't available in Argentina?

If it isn't available in Argentina through HP, then can you recommend me one of these other laptops?

Thank you.
