Im considering upgrading the ram in one of my computers but just unsure which one would be more beneficial to upgrade.

Ive got a P4 3.2ghz which currently has 512mb of ram installed due to another 512mb stick which died on me

Whilst the other computer is a:

Athlon X2 64bit Dual Core 4000+ Processor with 1 GB of DDR2 RAM

The P4 motherboard supports up too 2gb whilst the Athlon supports up to 6gb i think

Well what do you use each of the computers for and which is used more often... If one of them you rarely use, there is no reason to add more RAM to it.

its pretty balanced, with a mixture of work and games on both. i just dont want to spend money upgrading one of the computers when i could be better off spending my money on the other and have a significant performance upgrade

P4:

Mobo: PM8M-V SERIES M-ATX
CPU:Pentium 4 3.2ghz with HT
Memory: 512mb ddr 3200
HDD:Western Digital 120gb
Vid:ATI Radeon 9250

Althlon:

CPU: Athlon X2 64bit Dual Core 4000+ Processor
Mem:1 GB DDR2 RAM
Vid:Geforce 6 integrated 3D Video
Mobo:GA-M61VME-S2

and il probly spend $100-150
