Hi there,
I have a DELL inspiron 530S and I know that it takes a pentium dual core but it only has a 2GHZ and I want to put a 3GHZ in it. How can I tell what pin socket the processor would have to be for the motherboard?
Thanks!
John.

go to the support page and chat with a rep and they can normally tell you, it's probably either lga775 or p478 i think, but each mobo's chipset can only support certain cpu's so even if it fits it may not work

All pentium D and Pentium Duals (not the same thing!) were socket LGA775.

with BIOS 1.0.15 or higher your computer supports
