Which Pinnacle to get/ is this illegal?

me and my friend are going to be buying new comps and getting a video editor for all our biking vids to make into a biking movie.

1. we are undecided which one to get, Pinnacle Studio 10 Plus, OR Pinnacle Mediasuite. price does not really matter because we are sharing the price, thats where the other question comes in

2. is it illegal to split the price ( 50,50) and install it on my computer, then his computer?

Technically, it probably is illegal. Most likely one copy of Pinnacle (plus license), covers one computer.

are you two planning on doing this all the time? Do you two plan on making many copies, graphical effects, motion, etc..?

Or just something that can patch all the different movies files together and just produce a title, maybe chapters.. etc..? if so..

there are many free utilities that you can just use with no license requirements or anything. for example windows movie maker.

Yes indeed that is illegal (which is why discussion regarding such, will cease now ) Now a practical question is, how heavy duty video editing are you going to be doing?
