Which power supply can I get?

I want to upgrade my Dell Dimension 4600 with a new processor and video card. But I need to get a new power supply before I can do so. The current PSU I have is only 250W. I was looking at other PSU's on newegg and could easily find some good yet cheap PSUs on there. Example-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182021 I just am not sure though if the supply unit will be compatible with my 4600. So I searched "dimension 4600 power supply" and found this http://www.pcpower.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=S41D2 which is guaranteed to be compatible but it is much more expensive. So I just wanted to know if I could be safe getting the cheaper PSU.

The problem seen on many older Dell systems when going to replace the supply was the bolt pattern for mounting a replacement. Dell made "their's" different from the standard atx type so you would to buy replacements only from them. If your case is like this you would have to order a Dell certified replacement. The supply seen at the second link is a PC Power + Cooling model explaining the higher price for a far better make as seen in the good and bad lists in the sticky.

To get into a better made 450w supply and save quite a bit over the PC Power+Cooling model you could go for the FSP Group 450w seen for $57.99 at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104954 First check to see if that case is new enough to have the standard atx bolt pattern. Being a model in the Dimension series it most likely does. Dell was something with some of thier older cases however.
