Which Processor is Better?

Hey guys, I am buying a dell and know everything and all the parts I want except for the processor. I have two choices.

AMD Athalon 64 X2 5000+

or

Core 2 Duo e4500

Now the Core 2 is 50 dollars more. Is it worth the money and will there be a drastic difference? Thanks!

Get the E4500. It beats the 5000 in pretty much every single benchmark here.

On newegg, the price difference is only $20 (E4500 is $128).

EDIT: Oh, you getting it prebuilt on Dell. I strongly suggest for you to build it yourself, but if you can't and have no friends that can, get the 5000, save that $50.

This is a great deal though. AMD 5000+, 2 gigs ram, 320 gig hard drive, Radeon 2600XT, 20 in widescreen monitor all for 750. It's a really good deal, no one can build something like that for 750. The monitor alone costs 250 new.

I smell a challenge.

Okay... So that comes real close too 750. But it doesn't include OS, or speakers, and that MOBO will be about as useful as a broken pen. I admit, it sounds like that dell is a good deal. Can I have a link to where your getting it?
