which processor should i choose ?

which of these two processors are better what am i looking at when looking for a processor because there both dual core the celeron d has better clock speed so surlely that would be the faster wouldnt it ? i dont care if i sound daft i really need to make sure i make the right decisions when doing my new build

The specifications on the board you plan to use are the thing to go by there. That will show if it does or doesn't support the Core 2 Duo and even Core 2 Extreme models. The Pentium D dual core is an older model good mainly for an older build. It will also depend on the budget and type of case. For a gaming system the Core 2 Duo E6300 stands to reason there.
 
Asrock is a budget board, a little lower quality plus did you know that board still has AGP and no PCIe. For a Core 2 I would get a Gigabyte or a EVGA

he got it from my sig thanks for your help guys i think ive pretty much decided mybuild:D although i will probs change my mind before my birthday comes in august::P

Try "worlds apart" since Gigabyte is one of the top makes.

Look at the (BIG) blue letters at the bottom of his post, and why are you telling me about gigabyte boards. Are you the real thing thats just there every now and then, or 3 people and 2 1/2 are having a hard time! And by the way it says Gigabyte now because he changed his mind from Asrock!

It never said Asrock when you made your first reply at 8:58PM when the edit was made at 3:45PM hours earlier. :rolleyes: But you like to go way off subject anyways.

He changed more than the Asrock board , I read his post before he changed it. You miss alot. You need to get with it! He even told you I got it from his sig. Is this the real PCeye or the fakes?
