which processor to get

i dont know which processor to get. I plan on using PCIe cards, at least 1 gb of RAM and a 160 Gb hard drive. I plan on using large photo processing programs and large music editing programs.

but wee still dont know your budget. if your budget is only about 100$ for the proc, then get an amd athlon 64. it may not be dual core, but they are extremely powerful and they o/c like a dream
