Which provider has the lowest monthly fees?

I'm looking to pick up a Hotspot for my laptop as I currently have no internet service at my apartment. My phone provider is Verizon and I've checked with them, but they charge $50 a month for their service. I was hoping I could find something cheaper. Netzero advertises $9.95 a month, but I have no idea if that's unlimited use, or if roaming charges apply. I've never had a hotspot so is there anything else I should be looking out for that may cause additional charges to be added to my monthly bill? Thanks.

You won't find an unlimited mobile hotspot, most are limited to 5GB per month, and unfortunately most are in the same price range. I believe the one you saw from NetZero for $10 is only for a few hundred MB's per month, with their 5-10GB plan the same as Verizon.
